Following two successful public editions of our RDM Basics for Engineers lecture series, the presentation slides are now openly available on Zenodo as Open Educational Resources.
RDM Basics for Engineers was developed by NFDI4ING as a low-threshold introduction to Research Data Management (RDM) in the engineering sciences. Across four sessions, the series provides practical guidance on key RDM topics and demonstrates how good data management can be integrated into everyday research workflows from the very beginning.
The lecture series covers:
- Research Data Management fundamentals
- Best Practices & Data Management Plans
- Metadata and semantics
- FAIR research software
Since its launch, the series has been offered twice as a public online course, welcoming participants from a wide range of engineering disciplines and research support services. The positive feedback confirmed the need for practical, application-oriented RDM training and provided valuable suggestions for further improving the materials.
Based on this feedback, we have revised and refined the presentation slides. To make the content accessible beyond the live sessions and to support reuse in teaching and training, the complete slide set is now available on Zenodo: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21395410
