RDM Basics FOR ENGINEERS
Our NFDI4ING practical lecture series RDM Basics for Engineers provides an introduction to research data management (RDM) in the engineering sciences.
The format focuses on basic concepts, practical examples, and hands-on exercises. Participants will learn how RDM can be integrated into research workflows from the very beginning.
The series is designed as a low-threshold entry point and can serve as preparation for more advanced formats such as our Summer Schools.
For whom?
The lecture series is open to:
- Universities of Applied Sciences (HAWs) and Collaborative Research Centres (SFBs)
- Students
- PhD candidates
- Researchers and anyone interested in research data management
No prior knowledge is required.
Format & Programme
The lecture series takes place online and consists of four sessions, each lasting 90 minutes. Each session is divided into a lecture part and a hands-on exercise component. The courses are held in German, but can also be offered in English upon request.
Participation is free of charge; however, prior registration is required.

Upcoming RDM Basics Series
Further trainings & Roadshow format
This lecture series provides a foundation for more advanced training formats, such as our Summer Schools. Further information on our upcoming Summer Schools can be found here.
The format is also available as a bookable roadshow. It is suitable for offering the programme to students or larger groups, typically from around 15 participants onwards. The content can be adapted to meet specific needs and requirements. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the course.
