NFDI4Ing CC44 Community Meeting 2024 - NFDI4Ing

NFDI4Ing CC44 Community Meeting 2024 (online)

"Metadata? - I really don't have time for that!"
But maybe that's too hasty. In this online event, you will learn how you can use metadata to describe and link your text publications, research software and data sets and thus strengthen the visibility and impact of your research. With "DataDesc", "SciKGTeX" and the "Open Research Knowledge Graph (ORKG)" you will be introduced to tools and services that support you in your daily software-driven research. The event is aimed at scientists from all communities who use research software and datasets as part of their investigations and disseminate their findings in form of text publications.

Community Meeting Aims
The aim of the community meeting is to advance and unify research data management and to foster exchange between the NFDI4Ing and its community. Likewise, opportunities for networking and exchange with the research community will be provided. Everyone is invited to participate!

Last year, we invited the engineering communities to topical community meetings, six in total. Starting with 2024, we switch from topical to “arche-topical” community meetings, representing the NFDI4Ing archetypes. After BETTY, it's now on to ELLEN, our archetype focused on extensive & heterogeneous data requirements.
CC44: What is this Community Cluster?
Community Cluster 44 (CC44) is the community for computer science, systems and electrical engineering within the National Research Data Infrastructure for Engineering (NFDI4Ing). It aims to promote the good practice of research data management (RDM) in these fields and to connect researchers and practitioners in the community. CC44 organizes regular community meetings, workshops, and other events to provide opportunities for networking, exchange of ideas, and learning about new RDM tools and technologies.
Who is Ellen?
The archetype Ellen is a persona developed by the National Research Data Infrastructure for Engineering (NFDI4Ing) to represent a typical engineer who analyses complex systems comprising a large set of multidisciplinary interdependencies. Working within the computational sciences, Ellen does not work in labs, but exclusively on computers and computing clusters. She conducts research by performing model-based simulations and optimisation calculations, whereby she often utilises algorithms coming from statistics and computer science.
