Architectural RDM-Pipeline at Future of Construction 2026

Hana Svatoš-Ražnjević and Roger Winkler presented their work on FAIR data workflows for AEC research at ETH Zurich on May 21–22, 2026, as part of the poster highlight session.

Future of Construction 2026 at ETH Zurich brought together researchers, practitioners, and innovators to discuss how construction can be rethought through new technologies, methods, and forms of collaboration.

From 21 to 22 May 2026, the conference created a lively setting for exchange across architecture, engineering, construction, and digital research. The event offered an inspiring atmosphere, well-curated sessions, and many opportunities for informal discussions with the wider AEC research community.

We were pleased to contribute to the conference with a poster on the Architectural RDM-Pipeline, a joint project by the Institute for Computational Design and Construction at the University of Stuttgart and the University and State Library at TU Darmstadt in the context of NFDI4ING. The poster introduced our work on developing data workflows that support the transformation of heterogeneous architectural research data into structured, reusable, and FAIR Digital Objects.

We were especially honoured that our contribution was selected for the Poster Highlight Presentation, where Hana Svatoš-Ražnjević introduced the project to the conference audience. The following poster session led to valuable discussions on research data management, knowledge graphs, and the role of data infrastructures for future AEC research.

The symposium offered an excellent opportunity to connect the Architectural RDM-Pipeline with ongoing discussions on the future of construction and to strengthen exchange between the AEC research community and NFDI4ING activities.
