The NFDI4ING Education Platform provides Basic Research Data Management (RDM) Trainings for the engineering sciences. The training portfolio covers topics across the entire Research Data Lifecycle (DLC) as well as cross-cutting modules. We recently introduced two major updates that enhance both the platform’s appearance and its content.
The landing page has been redesigned to make it easier to navigate the available training materials. A clearer layout improves the separation of the different training modules, while a menu on the right provides predefined learning paths that guide users through related topics. A new FAQ section at the bottom answers common organisational questions, and a feedback button encourages users to share their suggestions and experiences.
The update also introduces two new content areas: Videos on Services and Archetype Workflows. To help users get started with NFDI4ING services, service owners have recorded short introductory videos explaining typical use cases, prerequisites, and the first steps for using their services. In addition, the six NFDI4ING archetypes – prototypical researchers representing commonly recurring needs, methods, and workflows in engineering research – present their typical research data management challenges and introduce relevant NFDI4ING services through a dedicated video series.
All training materials are published under a CC BY licence, allowing anyone to reuse, adapt, and redistribute the content with appropriate attribution. As a community-driven platform, we also welcome feedback and examples of research data management practices from across the engineering sciences to further expand and improve the training resources.
