RADAR4ING

Publishing engineering research data made easy
RADAR4ING is a brand new research data repository, established at the end of June 2026, for the publication of digital research data from the NFDI4ING community.

Details & Specifications
RADAR4ING is an online web service hosted by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). It is based on the RADAR service developed by FIZ Karlsruhe Leibniz – Institut für Informationsinfrastruktur. All data in RADAR4ING is stored exclusively on the IT infrastructure of the Scientific Computing Center (SCC) at KIT.

The service is intended for researchers in the engineering community (“data providers”) who want to publish their research data. Published datasets are made findable and accessible to third parties (“data users”). RADAR4ING provides the scientific community with access to these research data publications in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable).

A short guide to RADAR4ING’s features is available here, including information on metadata and DOI registration. If you have any further questions, please contact us at radar@nfdi4ing.de or via the NFDI4ING Helpdesk.

Please note: RADAR4ING is designed for publishing research data. It is not intended for storing “hot” or active research data during an ongoing project, nor for purely “invisible” (long-term) storage. All submissions undergo a curation process. If you are looking for storage for active research data with the option of long-term archiving, please refer to the NFDI4ING service Coscine.

Terms of use & restrictions
RADAR4ING can be accessed through the NFDI4ING Community AAI (CAAI). The CAAI is connected to the DFN-AAI, allowing users from a wide range of academic institutions to log in. If your home institution is not listed, please contact us at radar@nfdi4ing.de.

RADAR4ING is available free of charge to both data providers and data users.

The RADAR4ING Terms of Use apply. You can find the full document here.

Contact
If you have any questions about the service or would like to start the process of publishing your research data in RADAR4ING, please contact us at radar@nfdi4ing.de or via the NFDI4ING Helpdesk.

If you wish to publish your data, please include your scientific discipline and institution in your message. We also ask that you briefly describe your research project and dataset, including (if available) information such as the dataset size, the number of files, file format(s), and the planned publication date.
