NFDI4ING at the Love Data Week 2026

As part of Love Data Week, NFDI4ING is participating with several talks related to research data management.

The Love Data Week is an international action week focused on research data and research data management, taking place from February 9 to 13. Under this year’s motto “Where’s the Data?” numerous RDM initiatives from German-speaking countries are participating. We at NFDI4ING are also contributing with our own sessions. Together we aim to highlight the importance of sustainable and responsible research data practices.

All NFDI4ING-related talks are listed below along with registration information.
The full overview of Love Data Week can be found here.

Introduction to RDM Software Coscine

As part of Love Data Week 2026, the IT Center at RWTH Aachen University presents the RDM platform Coscine in three presentations:

NFDI4ING Jupyter Service

On Tuesday from 10:00-10:30 our NFDI4ING Jupyter Service will give a quick introduction into our tool.

Publishing Engineering Research Data with ing.grid

ing.grid is a scholarly-led journal for FAIR data management in the engineering sciences. It integrates Open Access, Open Review, and Open Data to make research results transparent, reusable, and openly discussed. Rooted in all engineering disciplines, ing.grid fosters interdisciplinary exchange and supports the publication of data from experiments, simulations, and field research.

The platform positions data management itself as a subject of scholarly research, extending the traditional scientific method to include data literacy, infrastructure, and governance. In this session, we introduce ing.grid’s key features, its role in promoting data transparency and reuse, and practical guidance for researchers on depositing and sharing their data.

RDMO - DMP guidance on demand: The new NFDI4ING RDMO chatbot

DMP guidance on demand: The new NFDI4ING RDMO chatbot

NFDI4ING RDMO helps you create data management plans (DMPs) and develop a solid approach to managing your research data. To make completing DMP questionnaires easier, NFDI4ING RDMO now includes an integrated chatbot. In this Coffee Lecture, we give a brief overview and show how the chatbot can help you understand questions, find relevant guidance, and draft responses more efficiently, so you can move from questions to a complete DMP faster.

DBRepo: Make research data in relational databases FAIR, versioned and citable

The presentation introduces TU Darmstadt’s upcoming service “DBRepo as a Service”, which will be open to all researchers. The platform enables the hosting of relational databases, including documentation with semantic metadata and versioning, so that data—from the entire database down to defined subsets—can be reliably shared, reused, and cited.
