Community-driven RDM trainings for engineering

Help us make our trainings more illustrative! Provide experiences and use case snippets for community-driven RDM trainings from engineers for engineers.

NFDI4ING provides RDM trainings specifically for the engineering sciences. Compared to generic RDM trainings, this includes e.g. characteristics of engineering data, file formats in the engineering sciences, and perspectives by NFDI4ING’s engineering archetypes. Curious? Find our openly available training platform at https://education.nfdi4ing.de.

To make the trainings even more specific for the broad discipline of engineering sciences, we chose a community-driven approach: In our past Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings, everyone interested was invited to bring in feedback, new ideas, and engineering-related contents to the trainings. Although we already finished the current SIG season, we are still looking forward to our engineering community’s input:

  • Do you have vivid examples of how to conduct RDM in the engineering sciences? We would like to integrate that in our trainings!
  • Something in data management went wrong because of not following best practices? Maybe you would like to share these experiences with others (if you like anonymously) to prevent them from making the same mistake and understand the purpose better!
  • You have a small snippet (excerpt) of a use case that helps to understand a specific part of RDM, e.g. how to fill out a metadata schema? This will probably help others to understand RDM better!

If you like to contribute, your input could be considered within NFDI4ING’s RDM trainings! Either anonymous or with authorship/acknowledgement, under CC BY 4.0 license or separately licensed. Thank you for your contributions!

We are looking forward to getting in contact with you! Please check out https://nfdi4ing.de/training-education/ for contact details.
