First stable release 1.0 of Kadi4Mat

We are pleased to announce the first stable 1.0 release of the open source virtual research environment Kadi4Mat. This version marks the culmination of several years of work and improvements since the initial release of Kadi4Mat and also includes the first stable version of its application programming interface.

Since its early days, Kadi4Mat has already been used successfully in various research projects and use-cases and shares its knowledge with the NFDI4Ing community. Going forward, development will continue to focus on improving Kadi4Mat’s core functionality, infrastructure, stability and interoperability, always with the goal of facilitating good research data management practices in a highly flexible and customisable manner. This is also achieved thanks to Kadi4Mat’s ecosystem, which is being developed in parallel and either streamlines or builds on top of Kadi4Mat’s existing functionalities. All relevant information about Kadi4Mat and its ecosystem can be found at https://kadi.iam.kit.edu, including a list of instances hosted at KIT for different use-cases.

This release could not have been achieved without the financial support of BMBF, DFG, the federal state of Baden-Württemberg and KIT. We also thank the helpful community of researchers that supported development, and we look forward to growing that community in the future!
