Data literacy plays a key role in solving societal challenges and in understanding the digital culture; for industry, it is now a prerequisite for employment, and the Stifterverband also formulated it in the Data Literacy Charter as an “indispensable component of general education”. Coordinated and targeted training is of great importance for the competitiveness of Germany as a center of research and industry. This is the motivation and task of the NFDI section training & education. Together with other consortia in the NFDI, NFDI4Ing will identify and analyse target audiences and requirements and develop training modules on data literacy tailored specifically towards these communities. Another central work package of the section is quality assurance for the individual modules as well as for the resulting teaching and training courses.
